Organic DIY Treatment Recipes
Neem Oil Spray (All-Purpose Pest Killer)
Best for spider mites, aphids, mealybugs, and scale insects.
- Ingredients: 1 tsp Neem oil, 1/2 tsp mild dish soap (emulsifier), 1 quart warm water.
- Steps: Combine ingredients in a spray bottle. Shake well. Spray generously on top and underside of leaves and stems. Apply once a week until pests are gone.
- Safety: Do not apply in direct midday sun to avoid leaf burn.
Isopropyl Alcohol Dabbing (Direct Contact)
Best for immediate eradication of mealybugs and scale.
- Ingredients: 70% isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs or Q-tips.
- Steps: Dip Q-tip into rubbing alcohol and dab directly onto white cottony bugs (mealybugs) or brown shells (scale). The alcohol dissolves their waxy coating instantly.
- Safety: Spot-test a single leaf first. Rinse leaves with water after treatment to prevent drying.
